Come on people have a little respect; it’s not that funny! Now don’t worry hippies out there that may read my post I felt bad for running into the bird and I didn’t purposely turn him into a bird bagel.
Now to the good stuff; training has been going well since my last race. I have had two solid weeks at around 100 miles since my last race with two more to go followed by an easy week before my next race; the sun run. My workouts have improved dramatically and I am feeling way better out there on the track while doing them. I am doing longer track intervals on Tuesday’s with a good amount of volume followed up with another track session on Friday’s of shorter distances. Add in a longer medium run in on hump day and consistent long runs on Sunday’s I am already seeing the work pay off while I feel stronger each day while training. This should leave me with a far better level of fitness when our group begins the marathon build-up this summer than the last time I started the build-up with a long layoff and a shortened time frame to get marathon fit. In the end it didn’t work and I never made it to the start line, but right now things are falling into place.
So with the sun run 10km coming up I am confident I will be far fitter than last year and ready to run at my best this time. Now if the weather could do it’s part and bring on the mild spring days that would be a great help while we are out on the track slogging through tons of rain and a strong wind. Either that or it’s time for a training camp. Either way I’m good.
