I’m still here. Not much to report, I took it easy during the holiday. I was running well up to x-mas, then I got lazy and now I am getting out of laziness and back into training; or more accurate just running. The upside to not being in shape right now is that I don’t have any races for awhile and I can use the next few months to get fit slowly, maybe even enjoy it a bit more than I have in a while.
I used to like training through the winter on the island. No one around. I did my training on my own, usually in snow. I didi a lot of long slow running in the trails and I usually came out the other side fit and racing well.
I am going to try to replicate this again this winter but with one difference, on the mainland. I also have a vacation planned in February so my immediate goal is to get fit before we head to Hawaii. First so I can enjoy whatever running I do there and second so I fit into my swim shorts. They are a bit tight right now. 
To help aid in my quest to fitness this winter I am picking up a new form of fitness, snowshoeing. I am heading to to seymour this weekend to try it out. Should be interesting.
