That's How I want to Start 2012
Last week went a little rough after I attempted a 10 mile tempo out here in Langley. The Solo attempt, in not ideal conditions, was hard and sucked and wasn’t anywhere I wanted to be pace wise so I decided that since I hadn’t had a single day off in 7 weeks it was time for one, but 1 day off turned into 3 and if I continued to slide things would get ridiculous. I started back up slowly...

I got it done with a couple group runs.
This past week has been one of my better ones it quite a while. It started off with a group long run last Sunday out here in Langley. The plan was 28km with a 10km pick up at 12 km- 22km. We started out at a moderate pace hitting around 6:20 pace for the first 12.4 km before picking it up for the next 10km. Wykes put some distance on us pretty quickly, which was fine with me, as I...

Summer Well
I’ll say it right off the bat I would rather vacation Winter than vacation Summer; which means I’d rather go from warm all the time to cold for a treat than the other way around. I’m considering a change of venue, or at least real long extended training camps running all year long.
I am here in Hawaii for a training camp/ holiday. So far it has been more training camp than...

THE OREGON TRAIL CIRCA 1992
coach bigfoot
Just played a game of Oregon Trail with Rupp, Wheating, Lannana, Acosta, and Centro.
I didn’t take any nights of rest and ran them into the ground. Lannana died first with exhaustion, which is suitable for someone who is over twice the other guys’ age. It seemed as those Centro was the second weakest, he kept coming down with dysentery and cholera and died. Rupp drowned...
Back In The Mix
Well I finally took that first step for 2011 by meeting the group for a workout at Burnaby Lake. Wykes, Gant, Anders and myself met for a mono fartlek around the lakes. The workout was 2x90 seconds with equal jog, 4x60 seconds, 4x30 seconds and 4x15 seconds. I brought my heart rate monitor to ensure that I stayed in my “zone,” and avoid putting myself into cardiac arrest. Surprise,...

I'M OUT!!
The CIM marathon is a no go for me this time around. My prep for this marathon has not gone the way it needed for me to be ready for a marathon right now; so a bit of a break and then come up with a plan for the Spring.

BC CROSS,(Aldergrove)
So after our in and out workout on Tuesday I was on my own two days later to get in a modified 400 meter workout that would give me an extra day of rest before my race Saturday. The rest of the group were running 16x400 meters on Friday and I was told that I should just run 12x 400 the day earlier.
I did the workout a mile from my house on a track at the high school out here in Walnut grove. It...

THE FALL
Well i just did a big post covering the last week and a half of training and it got erased when I posted it up so now I’ll have to give you the cliff notes.
Two sundays ago I hit up a 20 mile run at Stanley park, 10 miles at a brisk pace in the trails, 6.25 miles fast around the seawall and 4 miles to finish it off. At the end of it I was able to get it all done in 2:03. Next up was 6x a...

WEEK ONE
After a busy summer of relaxing and home renovations the fall is getting closer and marathon training is looming. This week is week one of marathon specific training for me and our training group and with a number of people in the group training for the same marathon this time around(Sacramento) it should make for a more team like training environment for this marathon.
I am going to be taking it...
